Don’t Mess Up the Chance of a Lifetime

When it came time to close the last store in the Robbins jewelry dynasty, Gordon Robbins chose Wilkerson to do what they do best: Market, sell and liquidate its merchandise. Robbins Delaware Diamonds closed its Newark, Del. location last spring. And according to Robbins, the selection of Wilkerson was a wise one. “You only get one chance when it comes to closing your business or retiring, so don’t mess it up,” he says. Liquidations are not a jeweler’s primary field of expertise, he adds, along with this recommendation: “I would suggest you call Wilkerson. It was the only call I made.”
