Five Things We Never Knew About … Rodney Rayner
one
I have a passion for motorcycles, especially Ducatis. Every summer I go for a 3,000-mile, 10-day ride from my home just south of London, across France to Switzerland, and end up in Italy, then repeat in the other direction!
two
I started horse riding when I was about 4 years old, and dreamed of being a jockey!
three
My first job after leaving school at 16 was working in a chandlery. Sailing is another hobby of mine.
four
I  love unpretentious fine food and wine, especially California wines like zinfandels by Martinelli Jackass Hill (love that name!) and Turley, as well as Flowers’ pinot noir.
five
I made my first piece of jewelry when I was 10 years old from some twisted wire I found in my dad’s garage and an unusual colored stone I found on our garden path.
