SECAUCUS, NJ – Jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler Frederick Goldman Inc. announced three patents granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The additions bring the company’s patent portfolio to eight, all applied to its Triton contemporary metal brand of men’s wedding bands and jewelry.
This patent family is focused on single and multi-layer nano-technology coatings that deliver a white color and luster to any metal they are applied to, simulating the look of platinum group metals. Additionally, the coatings provide scratch resistance and increased hardness to the metal.
FGI says in a press release that with these patents, it is the only company that can design and offer white tungsten carbide to the jewelry industry. As white is the most popular color for bands, FGI is leveraging the patents “to design and deliver the most interesting and desired looks and finishes to retailers” to meet consumer demand.
FGI has also developed proprietary yellow, rose and black colored coatings that enable the Triton brand to design unique multi-color rings with intricate design motifs.
