Gem Quiz: Yellow and Purple Never Looked So Good Together

MY PORTMANTEAU NAME SUGGESTS something modern, like brunch, Californication or recessionista, but I’ve been around as a collector’s item for some time. Legend has it I first came to Old World notice in the 17th century when a Spanish conquistador received me as a dowry on marrying a local princess named Anahi (now the name of the main mine associated with my production). My twin purple and yellow beauty were then introduced to Europe through the conquistador’s gifts to the Spanish queen. Today I am popular with artistic cutters who invariably facet me in a rectangular shape to show off a 50/50 split between my famous yellow quartz side and my equally famous purple quartz side.

Who am I?
