ICA to Cancel GILC and Tucson Reception

(PRESS RELEASE) The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has made the difficult decision to cancel both its annual Gemological Industry & Laboratory Conference (GILC), and ICA Tucson Reception, due to pandemic-related health concerns. Originally scheduled for Monday, January 31st, the GILC is an indoor members and invitation only event with participants expecting to carry on passionate conversations.

The ICA Tucson Reception, originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd, and attended by over 350 members and guests, is an evening of enthusiastic conversation, music, food, drinks and dancing. Because both events are not suited for Covid protocols, ICA has chosen to cancel both events.

“We are terribly disappointed that our premier Tucson events will not take place this year,” says Gary Roskin, ICA’s CEO. “First and foremost, we want all of our members to stay healthy and safe. We certainly do not want to create a situation that could endanger the health of our family. This may sound clichéd, but better safe than sorry. There’s always next year.”
