Inventor of Princess Cut Joins Synthetic Diamond Company Backed by DiCaprio

Israel Itzkowitz and Maarten de Witte now with Diamond Foundry.

Two distinguished diamond cutters have been appointed by Diamond Foundry, the synthetic diamond company that Leonardo DiCaprio is backing financially, according to Rapaport. The article says that Israel Itzkowitz, who invented the princess cut in 1979, has been tapped as the firm’s Master Cutter after contributing designs to De Beers, Tiffany & Co. and Graff Diamonds over the years. Additionally, the company appointed master diamond cutter Maarten de Witte, who has more than 40 years of experience in the trade and previously served as the director of the American School of Diamond Cutting.
