JA New York Fall Event to Feature Pop Up Education and Networking Opportunities

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — The upcoming JA New York Fall show, taking place October 29-31 at the Jacob Javits Center, will be enhanced by several vibrant pop up education sessions, the presence of influential industry organizations in the show’s newly minted “Industry Row,” and multiple networking opportunities. These exciting additions to the comprehensive marketplace of exhibiting designers, manufacturers and brands will provide attendees with the opportunity to fill their cases in advance of the busy holiday selling season while also enhancing their businesses through knowledge acquisition and relationship building.

“In-person events are so important for forging and strengthening the relationships that form the foundation of our industry,” said Tobi Smith, JA New York’s Global Accounts manager. “Our Fall show is bringing together a stellar collective of exhibiting designers, manufacturers and brands, retailers and industry influencers for three focused days of shopping, networking and education; these shared experiences are so important to maintaining the vitality of this amazing industry and we’re delighted to spearhead so many important initiatives.”

JA New York has partnered with sought-after speakers for several pop up education sessions. On Sunday at 2:00pm, Ben Guttery of @ThirdCoastGems notoriety will be speaking about best practices for leveraging social media to boost one’s business. Following his presentation and Q&A, at 2:45pm on Sunday, Adrianne Sanogo, award-winning GIA Graduate Gemologist and founding Board Member and Education Chair for Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC), will be speaking about how to find and nurture quality staff in the current job market. On Monday at 2:00pm, Jewelry Content Creator and Gem Dealer, Julia Hackman Chafé of the popular TikTok Account, Jewels with Jules, will speak about her path to social media fame. Closing out the education sessions, on Tuesday at 11:00am, Nancy Orem Lyman and Madison Harvey from Diamonds Do Good will share what it’s really like at a diamond mine, and how diamonds benefit the communities from the areas in which they’re sourced.

All education sessions will be accompanied by creative happy hours, with De Beers Institute of Diamonds acting as the official host of a wine and beer mixer at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 29. As reported in the trade media, Matt Tratner will be joining JA New York as Group Show Director on October 23, and will be in attendance in his new, official capacity throughout the event.

Industry Row will include representatives from Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJ), Diamonds Do Good, De Beers Institute of Diamonds, GCal, Jewelers of America (JA), Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) and Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA).
