Jeweler Resource Center Hosts Gemstone Security Webinar from Platinum Guild International

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — The Plumb Club is to present a comprehensive learning opportunity from Platinum Guild International USA for retail jewelers with a bridal category as part of their merchandising mix. The virtual presentation, “Gemstone Security – It’s a Metal Matter”, will be held in the Jewelers Resource Center Auditorium on Wednesday, May 11 at 1pm (EDT) and is open to the entire jewelry industry.

Join Kevin Reilly, senior vice president, Platinum Guild International USA and Teresa Frye, president TechForm Advanced Casting Technology, as they present research findings from a study conducted with FEM, a world-renowned research laboratory in Germany, on the wear resistance, hence the durability and long-term security, of the most common platinum and white gold jewelry alloys.

The presentation will be of utmost importance for jewelry retailers offering bridal jewelry. Since the center diamond or gemstone is the focal point, and usually the most costly element of every engagement ring, protecting that gem is important to a consumer. And when it comes to the setting, there’s a critically important combination of elements that are essential in crafting a piece that ensures optimal security for diamonds and gemstones.

In addition, the presentation will cover:

  • Historical beliefs and assumptions about platinum’s wear resistance
  • Summary of research results confirming platinum wear resistance
  • A discussion about the importance of platinum alloy usage and its impact on gemstone security
  • What a retailer can do to ensure they are providing customers with the most secure setting for their diamonds and gemstones

Register now and don’t miss out on this important information to help you do business.
