Jewelry Store Employee Struck During Robbery

An employee was struck during the robbery of a jewelry store in Madison, WI.

Two men wearing masks entered Jewelers Workshop on Atwood Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, WKOW-TV reports.

An employee was hit during a brief altercation that ensued, police said. The suspects took a countertop jewelry display case and left.

“In over 50 years of us being in business, this is the first time something like this has happened. Nobody was hurt, no weapons were drawn, and thankfully there’s no damage to my business,” Jason Braden, owner of the store, told WKOW.

An employee said the suspects drove away in a silver sedan. The car had tinted windows and did not have a license plate.

The Madison Police Department continues to investigate the crime.
