JLo’s 3 Wedding Looks Were All Classics

ALTHOUGH THE FIRST ceremony was a private affair, the wedding of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez at his Georgia estate was anything but quiet or quaint. It was an all-out gala with friends, family and three different wedding gown and jewelry changes. The couple have kept the jewelry press on its toes since Affleck proposed with a green diamond engagement ring. The piece outdid his original pink diamond proposal from 20 years ago.

The wedding bands at the nuptials in Las Vegas their first time around were simple, expressing what a wedding ring should express: continuous love. But the jewels at the second wedding on Aug. 20 expressed JLo’s ability to go from blinged out diva on stage to elegant beauty during her most memorable personal moments. She shone in three different styles of Ralph Lauren gowns for three different parts of the event, and each gown featured a switchup of jewelry.

For the ceremony, she wore a  column gown with a romantic ruffled bottom crafted from 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric. And Lopez kept to traditional bridal jewelry, wearing Mikimoto classic white South Sea cultured pearl earrings with diamonds set in platinum and a white South Sea cultured pearl and diamond floral style set in platinum. Both pieces of jewelry were borrowed for the event.

Mikimoto Ring JLo wore to the ceremony and first part of the reception

For the first part of the reception, JLo changed into a gown bejeweled with multiple strands of pearls and Swarovski crystals and adorned with thousands of cascading strings of pearls. She kept on the Mikimoto ring from the ceremony but changed her first set of earrings for a pair of Mikimoto pearl-and-diamond studs with white South Sea cultured pearls and diamond set into platinum.

Her final look of the evening was perhaps my favorite. It was a body-skimming mermaid style gown with a Swarovski crystal keyhole. For these she brought out the sparkle: 27 carats of diamonds in one-of-a-kind pear and marquise shape drop earrings from Samer Halimeh New York.

And you thought her roles in Marry Me and The Wedding Planner were what Hollywood dreams are made of. Her real wedding could not have been more glamorous or dramatic – but would you expect anything less?
