Netflix Star Heather Rae Young Reveals Upgraded Engagement Ring

Heather Rae Young, star of the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset, has revealed a major upgrade to the engagement ring she received last year from HGTV celebrity Tarek El Moussa.

The original band, which was “minimalist,” has been replaced by one that features “miniature versions of emerald-cut diamonds placed around the ring,” Hollywood Life reports. She wrote on Instagram that she and her fiance designed it together.

The couple have been engaged since July 2020, when El Moussa, best known for his hit show Flip or Flop, presented Young with the 8.08-carat emerald-cut diamond during a romantic beachfront proposal. El Moussa recruited jewelry designer Benny Hayoun of Los Angeles-based Benny and the Gems to help him source the perfect stone.

El Moussa hinted at the time that the ring was a work in progress.

“Right now, I just got her the main stone, but what I want to do is design the rest of the ring together,” he said at the time. “I provide the stone, and now we actually build the ring.”
