Panerai Unveils Understated Elegance at Miami Design Week With Luminor GMT Power Reserve Ceramica

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Luxury Italian watchmaker Panerai introduces the new Luminor GMT Power Reserve Ceramica (PAM01674), marking its debuts at Miami Design Week 2024. Featuring an all-black color scheme and robust Panerai ceramic case and bracelet construction, the new timepiece embodies the fair’s spirit of pioneering design and creativity, while honoring the Maison’s enduring legacy and visionary innovation.

A standout in Panerai’s most emblematic collection, the Luminor, PAM01674 has been reimagined in a sleek, monochromatic design. Featuring a 44mm case and bracelet crafted in Panerai ceramic, the watch incorporates advanced high-tech Zirconium Oxide power (ZrO2), a material boasting a hardness up to five times greater than steel. This cutting-edge ceramic also offers exceptional resistance to high temperatures, scratches, and corrosion. By leveraging this innovative material, Panerai’s latest timepiece perfectly captures the Maison’s sporting yet sophisticated essence.

Powered by the P.9012 calibre, PAM01674 offers distinctive features, including a movement set to central hour, GMT function, power reserve indicator at 5 o’clock, and a date window at 3 o’clock. The GMT function enhances the watch’s practicality by enabling the tracking of two time zones, making it an essential feature for cosmopolitan explorers. A nod to Panerai’s Italian flair, the power reserve indicator features ‘ORE’ (Italian for ‘hours’) elegantly inscribed on the dial and maintains a power reserve of three days – the standard for Panerai’s proprietary movements.

The PAM01674 showcases a matt black sandwich dial, with indices and hands coated in grey Super-LumiNova X1, offering excellent legibility in low-light settings. The GMT hand, glowing in a Super-LumiNova X1, elegantly marks a second time zone, a refined tribute to the brand’s maritime heritage. The new bracelet draws inspiration from Panerai’s bracelets of the early 2000s with its clean and linear design, and offers a more modern, minimal elegance for a “less is more philosophy.”

Luminor GMT Power Reserve Ceramica (PAM01674) retails for $19,100 and is available at Panerai boutiques beginning December 3, 2024. For more information, please view the media kit HERE.
