Popular Indie Jewelry Designer Sues Actress Reese Witherspoon for Ripping Off Logo

“She literally stole my Magnolia.”

Jordan Weingartner, an independent jewelry designer in Florida who created the Magnolia Collection, claims that her logo is being used in Reese Witherspoon’s clothing line and has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the actress, Richard Johnson of Page Six reports.

The article says that Witherspoon is being sued for copyright and trademark infringement because the logo that her fashion company is using is nearly identical to Weingartner’s flower-shaped insignia. “She literally stole my Magnolia,” says Weingartner, who designed the logo in 2008. “My design actually looks nothing like a magnolia, and Draper James not only took the design, but also decided to call it a magnolia.”
