Rocket Box Salutes West Point’s Class of 1960

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Rocket Box, a leader in innovative packaging and display for the fine jewelry market, was selected to design and manufacture a unique ‘Memory Box’ for the 60th reunion of the West Point Class of 1960. Due to the pandemic, the reunion was held virtually in the Spring of 2021.

As a result of the former classmates not being able to meet and reconnect personally increased the impact and importance of the Memory Box. Rocket Box enthusiastically donated time and resources to create a beautifully designed black jewelry box, embossed with the 1960 Class Crest. Contained in the box was a custom-designed, 16GB flash drive that holds photographs and personal memories of the former cadets’ four years at West Point. With over 300 photographs, a full-length video and more than 20 personal videos from classmates retelling their experiences and memories of West Point, the memory stick deserved an impressive and thoughtfully designed container to house it.

“Colleges pride themselves on their Alumni and the acronyms that follow their names: PHD, CPA, MD and so on,” said Andrew Kaplan, Vice President, Rocket Box. “West Point’s Alumni have many of the same acronyms. KIA is one acronym that in most cases is sadly unique to West Point and the other Service Academies. KIA or Killed In Action follows the name of far too many graduates from West Point names. I was humbled and touched by John Denton and Steve Waldrop’s recognition of Rocket Box’s efforts and the plaque given to me on behalf of West Point Class of 1960. Providing the packaging, our time and assistance for the West Point Class of 1960’s 60th reunion was an honor for me, for Michael Kaplan, our President, and for Rocket as a company. It was our way to say, “Thank you for your service!”
