(PRESS RELEASE) SRK Empire, the LEED Platinum certified diamond crafting facility of Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. (SRK) has been listed in World’s Top 6 Green Buildings for its operational performance.

The crafting facility has successfully achieved the score of 92/100 points. The score has been calculated against various parameters as Monthly Average Arc Performance Score. The score is calculated on continuous and real-time basis, and the average of Energy consumption, Water consumption, Waste Management system, Transportation system score, and Human Experience index was calculated, which has totalled to 92 points.
Inaugurated in the year 2011 by Ms. Varda Shine (Managing Director of the Diamond Trading Company (DTC) by then), the building had achieved the LEED Gold in the year 2015 and then got enhanced to Platinum Certification status from US Green Building Council (USGBC) in the year 2018, making it the “First manufacturing facility in India and the Asia region”, and also the First in the “Gems and Jewellery sector across the world” to be awarded the Platinum rating by USGBC.
Some sustainable features of the building include:
- Cavity wall which acts as insulation for the building leading to lower air conditioning costs.
- High Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) roofing to receive the maximum sunlight. The high SRI value materials which leads to lower air conditioning and energy requirements.
- Pressure management system: The water tanks at SRK Empire are located at the top of the 30-meter-tall building, and thus the water pressure is very high. To avoid the wastage of water as well as wear and tear to appliances, we have installed a pressure management system that uses valves of a certain gauges to maintain uniform pressure of 1 Kg/cm. sq. on all floors. The usage and wastage of water and regular statistics of pressure are continuously measured by this pressure management system.
The state-of-the-art facility situated in Surat, on a daily basis operates with nearly 4000 people, and houses technologically advanced equipment and systems.
