Being stuck behind bars couldn’t stop Jimmy Sabatino from running a scam through which he duped luxury jewelry brand representatives into sending his co-conspirators their high-end goods, SILive.com reports.
The news outlet explains how the 39-year-old Sabatino – who was serving time for another scheme he ran involving luxury hotels – allegedly posed as a music business executive and asked high-end brand reps to ship expensive watches, jewelry, clothing and handbags to two co-conspirators, promising to feature the products in upcoming music videos and other promotional materials. Sabatino was said to have contacted the brands via several email addresses he created, with his emails displaying the logos of the Sony Music Entertainment and Roc Nation labels.
The article claims that Sabatini promised to return the goods and signed letters of responsibility for them.
Sabatino and his partners have been slapped with three fraud charges and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted, the article adds.
