(PRESS RELEASE) The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) welcomed nearly 200 members and industry professionals to its annual Rise and Shine Networking Breakfast, held at CHICA Las Vegas during JCK. The event offered an energizing start to the final day of the trade show, bringing together a powerful mix of retailers, designers, manufacturers, and emerging leaders.
WJA President Gabrielle Grazi opened the morning with remarks highlighting the organization’s continued evolution and renewed commitment to member-focused programming. “This room is filled with leaders, mentors, creatives, founders, and visionaries who represent the very best of the jewelry and watch industry,” said Grazi. “We’re building what’s next, and we’re building it for you. Every initiative moving forward is about creating real value for your careers, your companies, and your communities. This isn’t just a moment. It’s a movement.”
The event also featured an update from WJA Foundation President Nikia Levesque-Meyer, who celebrated a 19% increase in scholarship applications and announced the launch of a new scholarship in partnership with Stuller, dedicated to supporting bench jewelers. “More women are stepping up and investing in themselves—and we’re here to back them,” said Levesque-Meyer. “We’re proud to support growth and leadership at every level in our industry.”
Local and regional leaders underscored the value of connection. Michele Slater, President of the WJA Las Vegas Chapter, noted, “The event captured what WJA is all about—support, collaboration, and celebrating the women who make this industry shine.”
Rachel Akmakjian, President of the Chicago Chapter, added, “It was energizing to reconnect with longtime friends, welcome new faces, and hear firsthand about the bold, forward-thinking steps our national board is taking to shape a vibrant future for the organization.”
WJA’s Rise and Shine Breakfast, which is generously sponsored by Julius Klein Diamonds, remains a cornerstone of its mission to foster professional growth, leadership, and a sense of belonging among women in the jewelry and watch industry.
