American Gem Society Annual Recertification Exam Launches

(PRESS RELEASE) LAS VEGAS, NV — Every year, American Gem Society (AGS) titleholders and designees demonstrate their commitment to their career and ongoing education. How do they do this? By taking the annual recertification exam.

The membership takes the exam seriously: their credentials differentiate them within their profession and demonstrate to their clients their commitment to consumer protection, ethics, and ongoing education.

“Maintaining our AGS credentials helps assure our clients that they are working with a professional who can guide their jewelry-buying decisions with sound gemological knowledge and skill,” said Sarah Person, CG, chair of the American Gem Society’s Education Committee. “Our credentials are a critical tool that helps members also invest in and build their teams.”

The recertification exam encompasses the latest jewelry industry developments, covering topics on gemology and other important business areas, like government regulations, HR and legal topics, diversity, equity, and inclusion, marketing, and sales. Every abstract is written by subject matter experts to help members gain the knowledge they need to best serve the jewelry-buying public. Members must also sign a Code of Ethics pledge at the end of the exam, signifying their commitment to ethical business practices.
