Atlanta Jewelry Show Extends Resources to Jewelers Affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma

‘We are here to support you.’

(Press Release) ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta Jewelry Show Executive Director Libby Brown announced that the full resources of the Atlanta Jewelry Show community will be extended to industry members recently affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

“In light of the uncertainty that many in our community are facing now, I wanted to take a moment to reach out to our industry members and let them know that we are here for them. The Atlanta Jewelry Show is truly a year-round resource for jewelry industry retailers, reps and vendors,” Brown said. “We don’t stop caring, sharing or working for you when the show stops. We are here to support you in good times and bad.”

Brown acknowledges that it is difficult to ascertain yet what the full extent of the issues that many industry friends are facing, but she wants to make it clear that the Atlanta Jewelry Show office stands ready to help in every way it can. The AJS office staff and vast resources and connections are ready to begin working to provide whatever it can to make the lives of AJS community members as easy as possible during the post-storm recovery phase.

Because there are so many unknowns in a situation like this, the AJS office is asking the community at large to come together and help those whose lives have been or will be affected by these events. Here are a few thoughts to consider:

  1. Are you a vendor who might be able to help provide relief/work/goods or materials to other vendors or retailers who are affected by these disasters? The AJS show office would love to hear from you on how you might help. One AJS Exhibitor, Rembrandt Charms, has made the extraordinary step of offering temporary housing and work for those displaced by the deadly storm that devastated parts of Texas. Do you have a creative solution that you could offer as well?
  2. Are you a retailer who has extras — equipment, showcases, displays, boxes, repair envelopes — things that your fellow retailers might need to help them get their businesses back up and running? If so, and you would be willing to donate these types of items, let us know so we can put you in touch with the people who need them most.
  3. Are you a vendor, sales rep or retailer who has been affected by these events? If so, how can we help? Recovering from these types of natural disasters is a long-term process that can last months or years. We’re happy to make our resources available to you for as long as you need.

In closing, Brown said, “The Atlanta Jewelry Show staff is committed to laying a foundation from which those who are affected in our industry can begin to thrive from again, and looks forward to working with you in whatever capacity we can to make that happen.”

For more information on how you can help the Atlanta Jewelry Show extend relief to affected industry members, or if you are a member of the AJS community in need of help, call the Atlanta Jewelry Show office at 800-241- 0399 or 404-634-3434.
