Brandi Carlile Layers It Up at Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party

IT’S ALWAYS REFRESHING to see independent designers at celebrity events. Singer and songwriter Brandi Carlile took it to the max when she wore a custom necklace with multiple chains and pendants from Thea Miller, designer and owner of Dru. jewelry She wore the pieces to both the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and the 32nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.

Miller’s collection, Dru., is edgy and meaningful, and it draws on icons and motifs that symbolize strength. As the collection evolved, Miller began to incorporate inspiring words and meaningful mantras to empower and embolden the wearer. Some of her pieces are bold, some are daring, and some have whimsical messages that resonate with each wearer. She often uses irony and humor to reveal truth. She explains, “My inspiration comes from the women and men who wear my jewelry — their struggles, fears, and feelings, for it is these truths that bind us to one another.”

I have been a fan of the collection since Miller first launched it and have witnessed firsthand Miller’s growth as a designer and her confidence in the brand she is building. So seeing Carlile wearing this custom necklace of 10 or so pendants and multiple Dru. rings, it put a smile on my face.

Here are just some of the Dru. pieces that were incorporated in the multi-chain, multi-pendant necklace: The Dru. diamond large cross pendant with white diamonds, the baby diamond cross pendant with black diamonds, the Talon pendant with black onyx and white diamonds, and the Love is Love Medallion, to name just a few. She also wore the Dru. More signet ring and the Eye of The Storm ring, among others.

The mix looked just perfect with her structured Versace suit.
