Christopher Designs Announces Winner of Engagement 101 ‘Propose Too’ Contest

(PRESS RELEASE) – Christopher Designs announces the winner of its Propose Too contest in partnership bridal publication Engagement 101. Lea Gosselin of Quebec, Canada, proposed to her longtime and long-distance boyfriend, Francois, earlier this month. Lea and Francois now have a “promise” to each other and Lea proudly wears her promise ring every day while they live far apart.

Propose Too is a movement challenging the traditional ideas on the marriage proposal, encouraging and empowering women to propose first or propose back. In celebration, Christopher Designs designed a unique ring equally wearable by a woman as an engagement ring, or by a man as either a “mangagement ring” or wedding band. Christopher Designs and Engagement 101 are not the only publication noticing this trend. Vogue, the New York Times and the NY Post have all written about this cultural shift.

Engagement 101’s founder and editor-in-chief, Severine Ferrari, adds, “Our audience continuously expresses their desire to take the reigns when deciding the timing of the proposal. I proposed to my boyfriend and it was a great feeling! I also see the LGBTQ community having more and more double proposals. We thought that it was time to tip the scales and help find a path towards more equality when it comes to the proposal.”

Christopher Designs has already seen impressive sales with the addition of their newly designed “mangagement” ring. The custom white gold ring has a unique soft square gender-friendly shape with a .20ct L’Amour Crisscut center diamond. In addition to the giveaway, the ring will be available for sale at Christopher Designs’ jewelry retailers nationwide. Christopher Slowinski, founder and head designer at Christopher Designs, adds, “this is a great opportunity for retailers to embrace the ‘Propose Too’ mindset and leverage the additional bridal sales opportunity.”

Since its launch, more women who proposed to their boyfriends are now open to sharing their stories leading to over 100 stories which have now been shared on Propose Too’s dedicated Instagram page.
