Six jewelry stores were robbed.
Michael Bernard Gilmore, who was convicted as a co-conspirator of Abigail Kemp in a jewelry-store robbery spree covering several states, has been sentenced to 32 years and one day in prison, the Panama City News Herald reports.
His federal prison sentence was issued in federal court in Panama City.
Gilmore’s brother, 43-year-old Larry Gilmore, was previously handed an equivalent sentence in connection with the six robberies.
Kemp admitted to robberies in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. As the News Herald explained, “During their trials, Kemp told the jury Jones and the Gilmores helped orchestrate the robberies in various capacities.”
At his sentencing hearing, Michael Gilmore said he’s innocent an plans to take his case to appeals court.
The crimes, in which $4 million worth of jewelry was stolen, took place in 2015 and 2016.
