Daylight Jewelry Store Robbery Unnerves California Community

A jewelry store in San Ramon, CA, was robbed at gunpoint Friday.

The crime happened at Heller Jewelers in the City Center Bishop Ranch shopping center at about 2:30 p.m., CBS Bay Area reports. It was recorded by multiple shoppers and by the store’s security cameras.

Several robbers broke display glass and took merchandise, and another pointed a gun at a security guard, according to CBS Bay Area, which noted that the incident happened with “hundreds of shoppers nearby.”

Some witnesses reported seeing seven people involved in the robbery. KTVU-TV reports that the suspects fled in at least two cars.

“It was honestly terrifying,” one witness said, according to KTVU.

No injuries were reported.

“They knew exactly where they were going. They went in and they went out in two or three minutes,” said Luca Zanet, manager of the nearby Delarosa, who saw the robbery.
