Doryn Wallach to Show at JCK as Rising Star

(Press Release)
NEW YORK – Fine jewelry designer Doryn Wallach will show for her first time at JCK this year as one of JCK’s Rising Stars. The Rising Star showcase represents new and emerging designers from around the world. This year’s winning group of exhibitors, including Doryn Wallach Jewelry, was selected through a jury process and judged by jewelry professionals from around the industry. Doryn Wallach Jewelry has also been chosen as a Rising Star Finalist in the Design Center Editor’s Choice Awards, of which a winner will be chosen on Friday, June 3.

Wallach is eager to show at JCK and excited to have been named a Rising Star. “I am beyond excited and honored to have been chosen amongst so much extraordinary talent. This first year of business has been incredibly memorable, and I feel fortunate to be doing something that I am so passionate about,” she says. “Winning a spot this year as a Rising Star has further embedded the line in the jewelry industry, and I cannot wait to show buyers and editors the collection.”

JCK attendees can expect to see approximately 20 new pieces as well as extensive modification on existing favorites from Doryn Wallach Jewelry, including new bangles, stackable rings, cocktail rings and cuffs. In addition, new gemstones, including blue sapphire, emerald and rock crystal, have been added to the collection, as well as enamel. Wallach has also incorporated the use of Golden Quartz into various pieces in her collection. “Golden Quartz reminds me of the most beautiful and unique marble,” she says. Golden Quartz offers a unique, soft texture and contains actual 22-24 karat gold in its natural linear inclusions.

In addition to preparing for JCK, Wallach is currently designing her New York-based showroom set to launch in July. Utilizing her extensive background in interior design, She hopes the space will reflect both the Doryn Wallach Jewelry aesthetic as well as her own personal design taste. Her love of the Art Deco period is apparent in some of her findings, including a refurbished Art Deco display cabinet. She also custom-designed several pieces herself, including a macassar ebony desk.

Wallach’s aesthetic is shaped by her nearly two decades working in the world of interior design. Her jewels are influenced by the geometric patterns and stylized motifs of the Art Deco period as well as the romance of fine estate jewelry. Doryn’s passion for bold shapes, contrasting textures and unusual stones is evident throughout her collections. Crafted in 18k gold with a satin finish, her pieces incorporate stones such as white diamond, black diamond, black onyx, agate, turquoise, red coral, pearl, sapphire and emerald. “I love playing with complementary forms, textures, colors and layers to create jewelry with a timeless glamour,” says Wallach, who studied interior design at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. “I think of each piece as a modern heirloom to be passed down to a new generation.”
