(PRESS RELEASE) OMAHA, NE — Edge Retail Academy, the jewelry industry’s leading provider of business coaching and data-driven insights for retail jewelers, announced key executive and management updates designed to strengthen long-term continuity, leadership depth, and sustainable growth.

Co-Founder David Brown, previously President, has transitioned into the role of Chairman, where he will continue to provide strategic leadership and oversight on behalf of the company’s owners and stakeholders. As part of this transition, Becka Johnson Kibby, formerly Vice President, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, assuming responsibility for day-to-day leadership, financial oversight, and execution of Edge Retail Academy’s strategic priorities.

“Over the years, I’ve come to trust and rely on Becka’s decision-making, attention to detail, and leadership instincts,” said Brown. “She has earned this role through her commitment to our mission and her willingness to take on increasing responsibility. I’m grateful she is stepping into this role and excited about what’s ahead for the company.”

Brown will remain actively involved in key aspects of Edge Retail Academy while stepping away from daily operations. The leadership transition reflects a deliberate, multi-year succession plan focused on business continuity, operational discipline, and long-term sustainability for the company, its team, its clients, and the broader jewelry industry.

Following Johnson Kibby’s appointment, she named Sherry Smith, previously Director of Business Development, the new Vice President of Coaching Strategy and Development. In this role, Smith will lead the strategic development, structure, and expansion of Edge Retail Academy’s ever growing Business Coaching Program, the company’s largest and most established service offering.

Smith has worked closely with Johnson Kibby for several years and has played a central role in strengthening coaching strategy, program execution, and organizational alignment across the business.

Closing With Confidence: How Bailey's Fine Jewelry Achieved Outstanding Results With Wilkerson

When Trey Bailey, President and CEO of Bailey's Fine Jewelry, decided to close the Crabtree location in Raleigh, North Carolina after 15 years, he knew the decision needed to be handled with intention and professionalism. The goal was clear: exit the location while maintaining financial strength and honoring the store's legacy. Having worked with Wilkerson successfully in the past, Bailey understood the value of their comprehensive approach. "They understood both the emotional and financial sides of the store closing sale," Trey explains. "Their reputation for professionalism, results and care made it a very easy decision." The results exceeded expectations. Wilkerson helped Bailey's sell through significant inventory while maintaining the dignity of the closing process. "They don't just run a sale, they help close a chapter in the best way possible," Bailey says, strongly recommending Wilkerson to any jeweler facing a similar transition.
