Finally, Marilyn Monroe’s Jewelry Goes to Auction for the First Time

Lots include diamond necklaces and bracelets, a jewelry case, and even a used Revlon lipstick.

More than 500 lots of Marilyn Monroe’s belongings will hit the auction block in November, including a few pieces of jewelry that have never been auctioned before, the Daily Mail writes. The article lists a handful of the coveted items going up for sale: diamond necklaces and bracelets, a platinum diamond Blancpain watch, a jewelry cased owned by former husband Joe DiMaggio, a minaudiere, handbags, a used Revlon lipstick, handwritten notes, as well as other odds and ends.

The article adds that upon Monroe’s death in 1962, the items were bequeathed to her acting mentor, Lee Strasberg; his estate is now selling them off via Julien’s Auctions. All told, the items are expected to sell for between $2 million and $4 million. The auctions are scheduled for November 19-20.
