Gem Quiz: This Gem Features Spokes Just Like Another Colored Stone 7,000 Miles Away

All gemstones send different tales from the center of the earth; mine has to do with how I occur (very sporadically) in marble formed when granitic magma intrudes into magnesium-laced limestone. OK, that’s not the kind of story you’d probably want to share with your customers. What’s more interesting is how those signature spokes (loaded with corundum) give me a look so similar to a certain Columbian form of emerald that pops up close to the ground 7,000 miles away from my own stomping grounds in Myanmar.

Who am I?

Guess this gem for a chance to win a “Jewelry Geek” T-shirt. Be sure to include your full name and the name and address of your store. The contest winner will be selected from among correct answers to this question.
