Gismondi1754 Launches New Dedalo Collection

(PRESS RELEASE) GENOA, IT — In Genoa, the “Vicoli”, is renown for its narrow lanes that zigzag across the heart of town. Paved in cobblestones that have remained untouched for centuries, the intricate streets are a journey from top to bottom and every nook in town, only accessible on foot. It is here, the heart of the city of the Gismondi Family business where Massimo Gismondi had his fondest childhood memories and where he continues to create his designs seven generations later.

With his love for the city, Gismondi created his new Dedalo Collection. Dedalo, which translates to maze, is reflective of the connected streets fitting together like a puzzle in the old Genoa town center which remains untouched and special to the city and region. Representing community, discovery, and connectivity, Massimo wanted to create an architecturally interesting and interconnecting links to pay homage to his seven generation history in the port town with this new collection.

From the top to the bottom of the town, Massimo drew inspiration from the interconnected maze of the old town center. Home to shops, vintage churches, ancient monuments, and more – which is the true essence of Genoa and the discovery of much hidden splendor. This simple, high polished gold collection for men and women is sleek and modern. But its hidden messaging is the architectural inspirations Massimo infused. The base design is similar to an interconnecting “grid” mimicking the zigzagging of the streets in his beloved home town.

“I am truly excited for my new collection, Dedalo. It is very different from what I usually do but I thought it would be nice to change it up and create something that can be worn everyday. Also, I wanted to be able to capture my homes essence in something that I can share with the world, and I think this collection did just that,” says Massimo Gismondi.
