Gunfire Traded in Attempted Jewelry-Store Robbery

An attempted robbery at Robinson Jewelry Co. in St. Louis resulted in a volley of gunfire between the culprit and a store employee, KSDK-TV reported.

The robbery attempt occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday. After the shots were fired, the would-be robber fled, according to KSDK.

KMOV-TV reported that three employees were inside the store closing up when the crime occurred.

A door had been locked, and the culprit allegedly began firing at the store with an assault rifle.

KMOV’s report did not note any shots fired by employees.

A door and two windows were broken, but no one was injured, according to KMOV.
