Guy Tries to Steal from Jewelry Store, Ends Up Looking Ridiculous

A guy used a crowbar to break into a jewelry store in Pittsburgh, PA, but came away empty-handed — and ended up looking foolish in the process.

The would-be thief broke open a door and headed for the jewelry cases at Henne’s Jewelry.

But they were empty, WPXI-TV explains. Store owner John Henne made that a practice about a decade ago after “someone drove a car through the front door to try to get some jewelry.”

Henne doesn’t leave so much as a sterling silver necklace on display overnight.

In last week’s case, the burglar can be seen on surveillance video smashing through the door, then jogging toward the jewelry cases. He then realizes there’s nothing to take.

“You could even see his reaction when he saw there is nothing in the case is a little disappointed,” Henne told the TV station.

Police were on the scene within minutes, but by then the culprit was gone.
