Here’s How Much the Average Celebrity Engagement Ring Costs

77 Diamonds released a new report.

The average celebrity engagement ring in 2016 was valued at about $1.29 million, according to a new report from 77 Diamonds.

For its  Celebrity Engagement Ring Trends Report 2017, the diamond retailer looked at 100 of the highest-profile celebrity proposals.

Yellow gold has been the favored metal for celebrity rings in 2017. That’s a change from 2016, when white gold was preferred. From 2013 to 2015, platinum was the material of choice.

Emerald is currently the gem of choice. In 2013 and 2014, oval-cut diamonds were favored.

London-based Diamonds 77 noted that $632,999 was the average amount spent on an engagement ring for celebrities still married in 2017. Celebs who are no longer together, on the other hand, spent over $1 million, on average, on their precious ring.
