IDCA Celebrates Its 34th Annual Awards Night in Tucson During the AGTA Gemfair

(PRESS RELEASE) The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association hosted its 34th Annual Tucson Awards Gala on Thursday, Feb. 1, honoring Temple St. Clair with the “Designer of the Year” Award.

Shekhar Shah, IDCA’s jt. secretary, hosted the evening.

Temple St. Clair said she was overwhelmed by the honor bestowed upon her. She recounted how 30 years ago she traveled to many cities in India and was inspired by the art, architecture and antiques, which became the starting point of her designing journey.

Benjamin Guttery of Third Coast Gems was invited to speak at the event and shared with the audience how passion for his work was the ruling force in his life. He said that India being a culture that’s adorned with jewelry, every piece and every stone has a story to be told, and Instagram is the platform.

The event ended with some delicious Indian food for dinner.
