Jewelry Thieves Attack Employees with Pepper Spray in Phoenix

Thieves pepper-sprayed two sales associates at a Phoenix jewelry store.

The crime happened on April 2, the Jewelers’ Security Alliance reports.

“At 7:30 p.m. the two female suspects pictured above were in a retail jewelry store looking at chains and pendants, and decided to buy several items,” according to JSA. “However, when one sales associate tried to process their credit card, the transaction wouldn’t go through.

“As the sales associate swiped the cards again, one of the suspects pepper sprayed both sales associates. The suspects then grabbed the jewelry items and the credit card and fled.”

12 News identified the store as Alvarado Jewelry inside the Mercado de los Cielos in West Phoenix. About $4,000 in jewelry was reported stolen.
