JGW Hong Kong Special Edition Opens

(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG — Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong Special Edition (JGW) is finally here. Off to a brilliant start today through next Monday, the four-day jewellery sourcing and shopping event is back in Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) with an abundance of product showcases, a full line-up of educational seminars and workshops, and unmatched deals exclusive only to show attendees.

Offering “I Love Jewellery” experiences and attractions that are unique to JGW, the fair is open to trade buyers and jewelry lovers. Admission is complimentary.

“This special-edition fair is a true one-stop destination for professional buyers who need to restock for the coming peak selling seasons and shop for new finds,” saidDavid Bondi, senior vice president of Informa Markets in Asia. “Further adding to the energy level of the JGW experience are show exclusives, including customized expert-led seminars, jewelry-making demonstrations and limited-time offers on select collections. There is something new to experience and learn around every corner of JGW.”

New product discoveries

Featuring close to 300 exhibitors from Hong Kong, China, Japan and the US, JGW presents some of the very best in fine jewelry; loose diamonds, colored gemstones and pearls; lab-grown diamonds; designer jewelry; silver jewelry; timepieces; tools and packaging solutions, and gemological services. Visitors will likewise get the chance to shop for rare and superbly crafted high jewelry collections and investment-quality gemstones from iconic and industry-leading suppliers at the Premier Pavilion; procure a wide array of jadeite jade products, including the much-loved bangles, beads and cabochons, at the Fei Cui Gallery, and discover unique and one-of-a-kind pieces at the Designer Arena.

JGW comes on the heels of the highly successful Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong KongSpecial Edition (JGA) in June, which saw a 40% increase in attendance over the previous year. In 2021, the September show drew more than 13,000 unique visitors who made close to 15,500 trips to the exhibition across four days.

With Hong Kong’s mandatory hotel quarantine requirement for international arrivals still in place, the special-edition fair, although projected to draw a more local audience, is positioned to serve the long-term interest of industry stakeholders, said Celine Lau, director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery.

“The fair’s creative format ensures that jewelry — the most intimate and fascinating of all the decorative arts — remains top of mind for consumers everywhere, and even more so in Hong Kong, which is the epicenter of the global jewelry trade,” Lau said. “We believe in the future of our industry, and based on the market’s overwhelmingly positive feedback to our special-edition fairs, we are confident that the jewelry world has a sparkling future ahead of it.”

The full-scale version of JGW will return to Hong Kong in September 2023.

Here are a few of the standout collections that make this special-edition fair a must-visit sourcing event for trade buyers. Find more fine products here.
