JIS Relocates 2017 October Show to Fort Lauderdale

It will take place Oct. 8-11.

(Press Release) Set to open in just over two weeks the JIS October 2017 Show will relocate to Ft. Lauderdale after receiving news from the Miami Beach Convention Center that it would be unavailable to host the event due to status of the construction project and Hurricane Irma. The show will now take place over the same dates (Sunday, Oct. 8 – Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017) at the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, just 30 miles north of Miami. For those that attended JIS January and JIS April 2017, they already know the waterfront venue well as it hosted those two successful JIS events earlier in the year.

“Knowing the important role that JIS October plays in delivering product in time for the Holiday’s, we spoke to customers whose unanimous feedback was to find a new location and move forward with this year’s event,” said Jordan Tuchband, industry vice president of JIS.

“We were thankful that the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center had space available during our same dates and that this location would have minimal impact for customers who have already booked flights to Miami, just a short drive away.”

To support the move, JIS will immediately invest over $250,000 in new programs dedicated to easing travel concerns and delivering a successful event for all attendees, exhibitors, and the markets that rely on the show. The investment will include an impressive buyer merchandise credit program, special retailer hotel hosting opportunities, and travel assistance from Miami.
Each day, there will be more than $50,000 worth of merchandise credits available for attendees to earn and spend with JIS October exhibitors.

In addition to the production of jewelry shows by JIS and Reed Jewelry Group, the JIS mission is always first and foremost to help jewelers and the industry during times of success and distress, which is why JIS and the other Reed Jewelry Group Shows (JCK and LUXURY) are official partners of the Jewelers Disaster Relief Fund, organized by the Diamond Council of America and Jewelers of America, created to help jewelers recover who have been affected by recent natural disasters – including Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and the California wildfires.
