Judge the Jewels: Hudson Williams of “Heated Rivalry” Wears Emerald Necklace Instead of a Shirt

He wore $70,200 around his neck and no shirt under his jacket. It works.

The sighting: Actor Hudson Williams, who plays one of the two leads in the wildly popular hockey romance TV show, Heated Rivalry, recently posted for Vanity Fair with his co-star, Connor Storrie. The two heartthrobs donned sleek suits and serious smolder for the occasion, but Williams upped the ante with a very cool piece of jewelry.

The jewels: Hudson Williams wore Shay Jewelry’s diamond & emerald baguette tennis necklace for the Vanity Fair photo.

The design features natural emeralds and white diamonds in 18K rose, white, yellow, or black gold and is currently available on Shay Jewelry’s website for $70,200.

The trends: We have been seeing shorter necklaces on red carpets and more color, which you know I love! But the biggest trend here is certainly men in jewelry.

What do we think? This is fantastic. The necklace brings such a chic, understated kind of luxury to the look, which feels absolutely perfect with Williams’ dark suit and intense expression.

A flashier piece would pull focus from the actors’ faces, but this subtle touch of restrained opulence elevates the entire image without intruding on the photograph’s primary purpose.

It also serves to separate art from artist by the simple fact that Heated Rivalry character Shane Hollander – who is notoriously shy about fashion and needs a stylist to help him wear anything other than gym clothes – would probably never have the sartorial daring to wear a necklace instead of a shirt.

(But we all know that Ilya Rozanov absolutely would).

Judgement: 10,000/10 for this fantastic look that gave me an excuse to write about Heated Rivalry at work.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
