Judge the Jewels: Is Francesca Farago’s Toi Et Moi Engagement Ring Too Hot to Handle?

The sighting: Too Hot to Handle’s Francesca Farago will have to stop appearing on every Netflix dating show, because the dark-haired reality tv star is now engaged to her partner Jesse Sullivan. And yes, the ring is gorgeous.

The jewels: Farago’s engagement ring was custom made by NYC-based Ring Concierge. The yellow gold ring is a take on the toi et moi style and features two large diamonds, one radiant and one marquis, side by side within a floral vine surround featuring small marquis diamonds.

Jesse Sullivan was very involved in the ring’s design, according to People Magazine. He knew he wanted a toi et moi style, loved the idea of incorporating a vine, and wanted to include marquise diamonds as an homage to Farago’s grandmother’s engagement ring. The ring even features a paw print engraved on the inside, a reference to the couple’s beloved Pomeranian.

The cost of the ring is unknown, but Ring Concierge’s custom designs start at $10,000 …and based on the size of those diamonds, I’m betting the final price involved additional decimal places.

The trends: Toi et moi rings have been trending for the past few years, thanks to a few high-profile celebs choosing them (see Megan Fox, Emily Ratajkowski, and Ariana Grande’s engagement rings). Farago may not be A-list, but she’s a very visible figure and it’s fascinating to see the enthusiastic online response to her take on this classic style.

The proposal itself also featured an important trend: Francesca proposed back to Jesse with a ring from The Clear Cut – and also had a smaller matching ring made for Jesse’s child, Arlo.

What do we think? This ring is genuinely cool and innovative. It touches on several trends but doesn’t follow any of them completely, resulting in a truly unusual head-turner of a ring.

I watch an embarrassing amount of Netflix reality tv, so I already knew who Francesca Farago was when this gorgeous ring popped up Ring Concierge’s Instagram. An over-the-top ring is very in character for Farago, based on her flamboyant reality tv persona, but I never expected her choice to be so creative and interesting!

Judgement: 15/10 for a genuinely interesting design.
