M.S. Rau’s New Jewelry Boutique & Crowning Jewels Exhibition

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW ORLEANS, LA — After two years of designing and navigating the complexities of an historic renovation, M.S. Rau will unveil its new, multi-million-dollar Jewelry Boutique at 630 Royal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 12, 2021.

Designed by the Office of Jonathan Tate and the leading firm Truitt Brand Design, the renovated 8,500-foot retail space covers two floors of the gallery’s original building, making it the most upscale destination for jewelry in the region.

The newly imagined high-end Jewelry Boutique continues in the gallery’s century-plus-long tradition of offering only the best in its category. M.S. Rau’s team of expert gemologists have curated a singular selection of exceptional jewelry and one-of-a-kind gemstones that includes both designer pieces and sizeable stones from important mines.

Led by third-generation owner Bill Rau, the gallery has grown immensely since his grandfather Max Rau opened the doors to a then-petite antiques store in 1912. “We’ve long had a vision for a state-of-the art, immersive jewelry space,” said Rau. “Our recent expansion allowed us to make this vision a reality. The new offering will showcase an array of exquisite gemstones and signed pieces, with the crème de la crème showcased in our custom-built glass vault room around which the boutique centers.”

M.S. Rau’s Jewelry Boutique will feature everything from rare colored diamonds, exceptional emeralds, rubies, sapphires and other precious stones to historic pieces and beautiful designs by iconic names, including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., JAR and more.

Fourth generation owner Rebecca Rau, working closely with Truitt Brand Design, was intricately involved in creating a vision for the space with acute attention to detail and finishes. “Lighting and ambiance play key roles when looking at rare gemstones and extraordinary and historic jewelry,” said Rau. “We’ve created a space where customers are able to appreciate these beautiful accessories at their best.”
