At the same time, 54 percent of owners would not know what to do if they fell victim to an attack by hackers.

Norman Guadagno of Carbonite explains: “Small businesses do not have the same resources as larger enterprises and a single hack can put them in significant risk of losing their business.”

In the survey, more than a third of small businesses said they feel it’s probable that they’ll be the victim of an attempted hack over the next year, TechRepublic reports.

And more than 80 percent said politicians need to do more to fight cybercrime.
