Pandora Jewelry Founder Takes a Step Back to Focus on Horse Racing

His colt, Mor Spirit, has a real shot at winning the Kentucky Derby.

Michael Lund Petersen – the founder of Pandora Jewelry who’s credited for devising its marketing strategy – is shifting his attention to the horse track and his young colt, Mor Spirit, who’s being primed to compete in the Kentucky Derby, the Courier-Journal writes. The article says that Peterson, a “rookie” horseman, has recently scaled back his commitments to Pandora, where he currently remains a senior adviser. "They don’t need my advice anymore,” he said. “They’re doing just fine. Now I have time to do this.”

Petersen, the article adds, has partnered with Hall of Fame horse trainer Bob Baffert, who’s preparing Mor Spirit for the race after winning the Triple Crown with American Pharoah last year. The Kentucky Derby takes place on Saturday, May 7.
