Reward Offered in Shooting Death of Jeweler

Police have released this surveillance photo of the suspect.

Jewelers’ Security Alliance is offering a reward in connection with a Milwaukee, WI, robbery case in which a jeweler was shot to death.

Leopoldo Vela, 57, of Corona Jewelry was shot in the chest at 10:35 a.m. on Oct. 31, according to JSA. He later died of his wounds.

The Milwaukee Police Department is seeking the male suspect pictured below. JSA is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

WITI-TV reports that Corona Jewelry “buys gold and is a money transfer store.” The store is located on the city’s south side.

Police continue to investigate the crime.
