RIHANNA CAN START trends faster than any other celeb I can think of. Memorable looks have ranged from chokers to long diamond chains showing off her first baby bump to multiple earrings to layers of graduated diamonds around the neck to reimagined watches, from a gold Rolex to those reworked to be worn around her throat and her ankle. She has also worn brands ranging from independents to renowned jewelers, and all with the same sense of daring and utterly individualistic style. She mixes and mismatches, and while not everything starts a trend, her choices have become iconic in the jewelry world, and jewelry retailers and enthusiasts alike have their eye on her.
So when she wore a brand I had not heard of to the Christian Dior Haute Couture Show and it was a stunner of a diamond Y necklace and earrings, I immediately wanted to bring attention to her penchant for trying out different jewelry companies. This time it was U.K. brand Hassanzadeh Jewellery. Rihanna wore magnificent pieces, including the Y necklace with a round diamond of 13.80 carats in the center and a pear-shaped one of 8.17-carats sitting higher up where the piece rounded the neck. The round diamonds that made up the rest of the Y amounted to 47.52 carats. Now that was a lot of bling, but in a timeless style. The mismatched earrings included pear- and marquise-shaped diamonds, which Rihanna wore in one ear. Leave it to Bad Girl Riri to always wear good jewelry.
