Roberto Faraone Mennella, Jewelry Designer, Dies at Age 48

Jewelry designer Roberto Faraone Mennella has died at age 48 after a battle with cancer.

His death was announced on Instagram by Amedeo Scognamiglio, with whom he started the Faraone Mennella brand in 2001. Today the brand has stores in Capri, Italy, as well as New York, WWD notes.

“Supported by enthusiastic media coverage, the brand caught the attention of prestigious retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, which became loyal partners of the label,” according to WWD.

Faraone Mennella grew up in the XVIII family estate in Torre del Greco, Italy, near Naples.
