PHILADELPHIA — Rona Fisher, of Rona Fisher Jewelry Design, will be exhibiting at the globalDESIGN Show this year for the first time. The show features 26 artisan jewelry designers curated by the late Cindy Edelstein and her husband Frank Stankus of Jeweler’s Resource Bureau.
Cindy Edelstein originally created globalDESIGN 16 years ago in response to jewelry shop and gallery owners who expressed the need for a greater variety of luxury international designer jewelry. Unfortunately, due to the recent loss of Cindy Edelstein, she will not be there to facilitate this year’s show. Cindy will be greatly missed. However, her legacy and memory will continue to carry on with her globalDESIGN Show.
The globalDESIGN Show is located within the American Craft Council Baltimore Wholesale Show at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland. The globalDESIGN jewelers are located in aisles 6100-6200. The two-day wholesale show, open only to the trade, takes place Feb. 17-18.
Fisher’s designs feature reoccurring themes of pebbles as well as frequent use of asymmetry with balance. In addition, her use of mixed metals – particularly her pairing of palladium with 18 karat gold – is prevalent in her Skinny Pebbles Collection. She plans to unveil her newest jewelry designs and connect with the nation’s leading gallery owners at the upcoming globalDESIGN Show.
Fisher learned goldsmithing skills informally while living in Germany. Known for design collections featuring a river pebbles motif, she works in mixed metals, all gold, and palladium with fine-quality diamonds and colored gems.
