Sheriffs – Equipped With Oxygen Tanks – Scour the Bottom of a Muddy River to Find Lost Engagement Ring

A needle-in-the-haystack story that will lift your spirits.

Two sheriffs saved the day when they located an engagement ring that had fallen to the bottom of a muddy creek, as Husar Romance University explains, citing a couple of news reports.

Linda Huffman, the reporting goes, lost the ring when she was celebrating Memorial Day with her family at the creek. While attempting to climb a boulder, she fell and hit her hand on the limestone, sending the ring flying. Her fiancé then enlisted two sheriffs who are part of the Mid-Missouri Sheriffs’ Dive Team to help find the ring. Their search efforts were fruitless on the first day as they depleted the air supply in their oxygen tanks. But after doing some back-of-the-envelope calculating on where the ring may have landed based on where and how Huffman fell, the sheriffs came back the second day and located the ring at the bottom of the muddy creek.
