Signature IIJS 2016 to Showcase India’s Finest Jewelry

(Press Release) MUMBAI, India – The ninth edition of Signature IIJS 2016, held Feb. 5-8 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, will unveil a wide range of premium jewelry and kick-start the new buying season. Also, the third edition of the India Gem & Jewelry Machinery Expo (IGJME) will be introduced in Mumbai in conjunction with Signature IIJS on the same dates and venue.

GJEPC Chairman Praveenshankar Pandya says, “Taking the convenience of our retailers and manufacturers in to consideration, we have organized both shows at the same venue at the same time. Signature show caters to the sourcing needs of the India’s leading jewelry retailers and provide them a platform to view future styles and trends and replenish their inventory; and IGJME showcases the latest product innovation and technological advancements to boost the quality and quantity of production requirements. With presence of Country Pavilions from Italy, Turkey amongst others, IGJME has emerged as one of the most technologically advanced show of the industry.”

Signature IIJS is one of the premier jewelry shows in India, showcasing jewelry collections by the country’s leading manufacturers. Restricted to about 580-plus exhibitors, the focus is on product – jewelry of high standards of design, craftsmanship and finish. Covering an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, Signature IIJS attracts visitors from more than 375 Indian cities and about 55 countries. The visitor pre-registration has already shown an approximate increase of 10 percent over last year, and it is expected that Signature IIJS will have more than 15,000 trade visitors including the top 2,000 retailers of the country. This year, the overseas visitor registration has also witnessed a steep increase of about 20 percent when compared to last year. The ‘on the spot’ registration facility is expected to increase visitor traffic significantly.

This year’s show – which features defined sections of diamonds, gemstones and studded jewelry in addition to international – will extend the gold section to accommodate more exhibitors in this category. The main highlight of the show is the Signature Club, which showcases the couture jewelry by the leading manufacturers of the country.

Buyer delegations from countries like UK, Japan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Nepal among others will be visiting the show. Technology and education seminars are also being organized for the first two days of the show.

Signature IIJS provides a platform for the country’s leading manufacturers and retailers to facilitate an exchange of market insights and knowledge, providing networking opportunities for business. In addition, an exclusive invitation-only networking evening has been organized for exhibitors and buyers to further explore business opportunities and strengthen existing business ties.

Concurrently, the visitors will have access to IGJME, Asia’s largest gem and jewelry technology fair. IGJME is a strategic initiative of the GJEPC planned to help manufacturers witness new ideas, discover innovative technical know-how and learn cutting-edge techniques in production. The technology exhibited at the show is expected to improve the quality of the products while minimizing the raw material wastage.

Covering an area of 7,000 square meters, IGJME will provide an opportunity to interact with about 140 leading suppliers of machinery, tools, components, packaging accessories and allied products from all over the globe, who will showcase the latest advancements in laser machines, computerized yield planning machines, advanced bruiting lathes, diamond impregnated scaife, and more. For the first time, IGJME introduces an Italian Pavilion with 26 exhibitors along with a Turkey Pavilion, which has 10 exhibitors. Other overseas exhibitors include vendors from USA, Germany, UAE, China and Israel.
