Snake in the Diamond Case? It Really Happened!

It was part of a zoo fundraiser.

(Press Release) OMAHA, NE – Endangered and wild animals slithered over diamonds, crawled around the cases and squawked for the crowd during a fundraiser at Borsheims on Aug. 3. The fundraiser was part of the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo’s Zoofari, raising money for the zoo’s new Asian Highlands exhibit.

Animals were on display at Borsheims as part of a fundraiser for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.

Nearly a dozen animal ambassadors from Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and their handlers interacted with Borsheims customers and zoo supporters. Guests could learn about and touch snakes, exotic birds, lizards, a tortoise and an opossum while enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres. They were also able to shop Borsheims wide selection of jewelry, watches, and fine gifts, including several animal-themed jewelry pieces.

A portion of all sales of Borsheims exclusive Kalahari Dream Diamond collection, Signature Diamond collection and lab-grown diamond collection from Aug. 3 were donated to the zoo for the Asian Highlands exhibit.

Borsheims Fine Jewelry and Gifts is one of the nation’s largest independent jewelry stores and a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family.
