Police Say ‘Serial Shoplifter’ Took Jewelry Worth $200,000

Authorities in Kentucky have arrested a man they believe stole jewelry worth more than $200,000 from department stores.

The Georgetown Police Department took Michael Reid, 36, into custody on Saturday, WAVE3 reports.

It’s believed that he has “been involved in jewelry thefts at other Kohl’s and similar stores in Louisville, Lexington, and Richmond,” according to the department.

Reid has been charged with theft by unlawful taking of more than $10,000.

He was being held at the Scott County Detention Center.
