Thieves With Hammers Take $1M in Jewelry From Upscale Store — Watch the Video

“For it to happen in broad daylight is one of the most terrifying things.”

Thieves took about $1 million in merchandise from de Boulle Diamond and Jewelry in the River Oaks community of Houston, KTRK-TV reports.

They used hammers to break display glass in a “million dollar jewelry heist” that was captured on surveillance video, according to the news outlet. Watch a news video about the crime, including clips of the surveillance footage, below.

The crime lasted only 40 seconds. According to Chron.com, authorities are now looking for the four people who entered the store plus a getaway driver.

“For it to happen in broad daylight is one of the most terrifying things,” an unidentified employee of a nearby store was quoted as saying.
