This Namibian Beauty Is the Orange Prince of Garnets

I OWE MY NAME to the German mountain range where I was discovered in 1832, although it was in such small quantities that I remained essentially a collector’s stone until 1991 when a rich, new deposit was found in a remote corner of Namibia. These African specimens, which became known in the market as “Mandarin Garnets,” show me at my radiant orange best. My color, luminosity, hardness and rarity combine to make me natural for jewelry pieces.
